Shameless - start of new series tonight

As series six of this grittily humorous drama gets under way, the latest addition to the Gallagher brood - baby Stella - makes her presence felt in a most bizarre way. She's "talking" to her parents and says that if they can't produce at least one good person from the bleak Chatsworth estate (What! Is she having a laugh?), she's going on hunger strike rather than live there. Amazingly, Frank manages to find one. Meanwhile, Ian is knocked over and loses his memory. He's even forgotten that he's gay. But finding out about his sexuality is less of a shock than discovering what his life's been like. "Why would I want to remember this?" To its credit, Shameless (as well as actors David Threlfall and Gerard Kearns) manages to make these two potentially schmaltzy storylines as darkly comic as ever. Could it be that Shameless is back on form?

For me it's got less and less funny as the series have come out - probably because Frank has been in it less and less.

I cannot stick it,
it winds me up that people like this actually exist.
the film set is at the old umbro factory in baguley, about ten minutes away,
you can see the front of the houses and a the police station and the chippy from the road.
