GARAGE FLOORING - GREY HARD WEARING TILE TYPE - BEST PLACE TO BUY?
I'm going to kit my garage up and want some hard wearing grey tiles (the type with the circle patterns on).
Anyone fitted this?
Can anyone recommend a/cheapest place to buy it?
Cheers

Altro Mondopave, is what you are looking for I think, it comes in 50x50 cm tiles and is rubber with raised circles about the size of a 10p piece. There are alternatives too, but the Altro ones are probably the best.
Pretty easy to fit too.
I'd suggest going to an industrial flooring firm to buy it as I doubt the domestic ones will stock it, what area are you in?

Easier way is to use a good qaulity floor paint. I've some ready for when it warms up, in a a nice shade of battleship grey. Should look better than the cement floor which produces clouds of dust when swept.

I was going to go with this option but thought the tiles provide a bit of insulation

Ah a bit far for me to deliver to, the tiles are pretty heavy try looking here Altro - Altro Mondopave if that is the stuff then, try contacting them, they'll tell you of a Flooring contractor in your area who'll be able to do a supply only for you.

Might try coating it again in the Summer but on current experience I am also thinking about going down the garage floor tile route.

We painted my garage floor between Christmas and New Year and after only 3 weeks of prepping the race car in there it is already chipped to ****erry.

We put 300x300 tiles in our garage, total cost about £120 if you diy, just give the floor area a good base of adhesive, do not "dib an dab" as they will more than likely break or crack, easy to clean no dust.

We followed the instructions to the letter. Mind you I think the two supposedly identical cans were from different batches, one area is a slightly different shade and one side is holding up fine and the other side is coming up in great lumps.

You need the floor to be clean, dry and free of dust.
Do you realise how hard it is to get a concrete floor free from dust?!
I would have though a bit of 5:1 PVA would be a good sealer coat.
Also adding some sand to get abrasive resistance wouldn't be a bad idea.
We paint depots, garages, workshops the whoile nine yards and very rarely get called back for latent defects so you must be doing it wrong boys.

The paint I'm going to be using is an industrial one. My friend is a haulage contractor and has painted his depot in it so it should be okay for the Impreza and beach buggy! RRP about £100 per 5 litre tin mind you, so it should be good.
