there is quite a bit of commercial kit on fleabay if you have the space.

COMMERCIAL GYM EQUIPMENT NAUTILUS LEG EXTENSION on eBay, also Benches, Strength Training, Exercise Fitness, Sporting Goods (end time 16-Jan-09 22:12:41 GMT)

i have a york multigym which folds flat to the wall and to be honest its **** but it was a freebie and as long as I dont want to do leg extgensions or curls its okay. The pads dont offer enoguh support and theres no hand grips.

If you have the room, a marcy smith machine based multi gym is a decent piece of kit and comes with a commercial level of plates and a really decent bench with leg extension and reverse extension.

The smith machine does everything from squat to bench press to shoulder press etc. It also has a sitting fly setup.

I can show you some photos of mine, in pieces and fully built if you like.

it's the old story of you get what you pay for.

Avoid Reebok, Golds gym, York + a few other unknowns.

Trouble with home kits are the steel sections are too thin and too many bolts to build it up. Then when getting above 80kg+ they start to feel extremely unstable.

Better to spend you money on a gym membership IMO.

what the above folks said, avoid the consumer level stuff, mostly ****.

The commercial stuff is the one to get and fleabay does have some bargains on there (I got a rack of old school olympic iron weights now).

If you're after newer stuff than get hold of something like Muscle&Fitness mag and have a look in there, a few ads for complete systems and induvidual gym type equipment + weights - seen good reviews so the stuff is not the cheapo variety.

Strangely I went from trying to kit out a multi-gym/excercise setup to just basic weights and chin-up bar now, thats all I need to work my whole body
