Darts - a SPORT??
Just seen 2 Fat 40 somethings wobble their way to £95,000 in prize money!!
I am the shape to carry it off and have been known to throw a mean arrow .... but it surely isn't really a Sport - is it?

TBH I have lately caught some dart on telly. I respect the players regardless of their physical stats. Their aim is phenomenal I bet they get well pished while chucking the pins n' needles to the voodoo board, but they get it right They deserve the money IMO.

its a pastime like dominos, bar skittles, bowles, snooker or other pastimes which revolve around drinking beer.
if these beer bellied, mullet wearing blokes are sports men then where all doomed, as role models they arent.

It has a lot in common with sport...
...tight outfits made of artificial fibre...
...lots of sweating and heavy breathing...
...combative...
...gladitorial arena...
...oh, just realised it can't be a sport as it is broadcast widely on the BBC!

Whether it is or isn't, last night's final was top drawer entertainment. Few "activities" outside the bedroom can match that for excitement, in my opinion. Well done Count!!

Arrows for the Olympics!!
Good final actually, have to respect them for doing something i couldn't but yes, far too many fat boozers in it (and always has been).
Thanks to the cost of the footy darts is getting a lot of coverage right now. They need to get themselves sorted quick though before the chance goes away. Having rival championships held at the same time isn't smart. Well done to the Christmas Poo but he has won a competition without Phil Taylor in it. Its the same as when Man U pulled out of the FA Cup. Just not right missing the big guns.

If you don't believe me, try holding 40lbs recurve bow at full draw with all the weight weight resting on 3 fingers and keep it still enough to hit an 80cm square target 100 yards away.
Oh, and if you want to be Olympic standard, you'll need to hit the gold 99% every time!
IMHO darts is a pub game, albeit one that requires much skill, but little athleticism, which is why its superstars are usually fatties

Maybe if they made the dart the size of a javelin and you had to hurl it down the field it would be sport.
Suppose that would be to much like 'Here come the Belgians'
(OT but anyone ever see that official get taken out by a javelin??)
