Absinthe
So who has had this, particularly la fee absinthe, this one is meant to be the real deal, it's just 45% so not the full blown 60% but should be enough to let me know what it's like.
Gonna be drinking this stuff tonight, with a spoon of sugar and water of course.

I burned my stomach lining drinking this last Christmas. Also damaged my liver i think - Can't mind what the hospital said
Im not a big drinker but my cousin brought me back a bottle from Goa,India so last year I drank it an POW im not allowed to drink for 14 months ( The hospital said)
I drank it last December - was just wrecked then about 1 month later started getting cramps an bad pains. Docs said it was an ulcer. but it got worse the point i couldnt move with it. I ended up in hospital with it where they ultrasounded me an did various other tests, thats when i found out i injured myself lol
Told me im very lucky an they said i shouldnt drink for 14 months. They were even more shocked when i told them i rarely drink lol just the amount i drank an the absinthe buggered my guts
Now if i drink a beer or vodka etc i get a very sharp pain in my stomach/side. I havent really drank that much. I did on holiday an at New year but i need to stop so it goes away
Im on different types of tablets for it which helps alot.
I still laugh about it tho
was mental. I passed out with drinking it
So no curries or spicy food for me

Absinthe is bloody great stuff to start a night on.
For a real demonstration of its power, watch when you spill a bit (which you undoubtably will) and how quickly it evaporates. its like white spirit

Its the real deal its in a plastic bottle as it came from Goa. If my brother doesnt want it you can if you want. As i certainley aint touching the stuff again haha

Has done some strange stuff to me, like awaking from a dream where I had been trying to get through a doorway into somewhere only to find I was no longer in bed and weirdly holding onto my brothers aerial picture of Upton Park which I'd somehow taken down of the wall whilst on my sleep wander. Think I was also trying to get through the wall somehow

out one night with a friend and he downed 3 shots of it, he was already quite tipsy at this stage, didn't seem to effect him. 15minutes later we found him in the toilet unable to stand up his body and head was not-effected but his legs were out of action completely

the first and last time i will ever have absinthe was on a stag doo in newcastle. we went to this pub in the afternoon and as the pubs were quiet we thought we would give it a try.there was a big chair where you sat paid ya money and this bird came over and poured it straight down your throught.my mate had a go then my brother then me,this was around 2 oclock ish.the next thing i remember it was around 8 oclock back at the hotel all the lads had been changed and ready for off out again i woke up covered in sick but just managed to make the next taxi.my brother never woke untill later that night and my mate woke the next morning after spending the night asleep in the bath.never ever again.

We sat and drank the bottle between us. The strangest feeling ive ever experienced. I was sitting at his kitchen table and in my head I was having a great time, but i couldnt move a single muscle. I just sat there thinking "this is some serious bad stuff, i am thinking completely normally, but i cant move"
it lasted about an hour before I was able to stagger away.

Absinthe is made from wormwood, which contains a toxic chemical called thujone. This chemical appears to cause, among other things, convulsions, hallucinations, and blindness. For this reason, it has been banned in many countries, including the United States. While most kinds of alcohol can cause health problems if consumed in excess, absinthe is illegal because it is potentially much more damaging to your health.

It's more important that it's distilled and the right herbs are used.
David, most of the reason it's so bad is people drink the cheap bad quality versions which contain may impurities, that and you are not meant to drink the stuff neat anyway.
