Default Invest £7K for 11 months

Hello my learned colleagues,

Got £7,000 the taxman is going to want in prob 11 months, but maybe more.

What can I do for the best (safe) return?

I would have said Premium bonds a few month ago ,for safety and the chance to win a big prize (keeps it interesting ) ,but the odds have gone right down now ,mainly due to more being purchased because of the safety factor I presume .!!!
Other than that I can give you my bank details .Give us a bell when you need it back .!!!!

Personal Savings, Business Banking, Treasury Services & Wealth Management - Anglo Irish Bank - 1 year fixed rate bond - 5% AER

Difficult to beat that.

Obviously put £3600 into this years ISA if you haven't already tho.

In that case ING Direct > Home > The world's leading direct savings bank - 5% AER (variable rate) for new customers isnt bad

Otherwise there's plenty of 6month fixed rate bonds paying 5.5%. Interest rates will probably be between 0-1% when they mature tho!

Yes, I'm with them now. Thanks Kaupthing Edge!

(although I have my mortgage with ING as well and they seem a pretty good company)
