I bought a Karcher Grade A 5.86 washer from ebay..Used it loads of times with no problems. Clean the drive patio etc with a racer which also works really well.

Depends.
Since Karcher put plastic cylinder heads (which split on the take-off to the hose/pressure switch) on most of the domestic units, they are all much of a muchness in terms of quality an longevity IMO.
Another thing to look out for is the quality of the hose too; most are plastic coated which burst if kinked. Higher end and industrial units have fabric woven sheathing that stops them kinking, and is far more durable. Most domestic models I've seen of all brands (when looking in the shops) only had the plastic coated hoses.
So I look at it two ways; buy the cheapest one with the adapters/lances that suit your needs.
Or get a high-end Bosch with a metal cylinder head and pump body and proper hose: Bosch Aquatak 150 Pro x Pressure Washer 30 - 150 Bar 2700W 240V - 0600877B70 - Bosch Pressure Washers
Hose, reel, and a proper fibre re-inforced hose like the industrial ones.
When our karcher died (well it still worked, just p**sed water everywhere and ran continuously); the above Bosch is what I ended up with. Pretty happy with it, although by no means cheap, and its huge, so you need a big shed!
