Default Upgrading o2 mobile 13 months into 18 month contract - phone faulty

Currently have a SE k850i, been ok for 12 months but is now playing up, keeps re-setting itself or message saying "invalid sim" even though the SIM card is OK (I've been using it in a spare phone I've got and it's been working OK).

Anyway, the 18 month contract (£30 one) runs out in April, however anyone reckon o2 will give me a replacement or start a new 18 month contract on a new phone?

If needs be, I'll wait until April as I like the look of the SE c905 but if I can get it now, I'll be happy. However, if o2 want to play silly buggers, come April I'll go back to Orange.

I think it should be replaceable under warrantee (that's what they told me about one of my phones a little while back). Also, obviously, if you have it insured it is replaceable under that.
Not sure about upgrading though, they might be difficult about that and will want to just do a like for like replacement. Maybe if it has happened loads of times with the same model of phone they'd then consider an upgrade or let you change to a similar type/priced phone but other than that I dunno.

Cheers,

T

You'll be lucky. I have the same model and much the same time left on my contract and the best I could get was a repair.

They did lend me a replacement - the oldest most basic nokia ever - which didn't work!

You are entitled to replace your phone at 11 months of your first 12 month contract (then 12 months there after) but if its out of warranty and you dont have the extended warranty, then unfortunately your a bit stuffed

I called up Orange when I had about a month left with the N95 and told them it was turning off all the time, they sent me a new one out next day .. so I had a new phone to sell when my up grade went through .. although it was faulty ..

Check the warranty period, my SE K800i was for 2 years.

I just upgraded to a C905, nice phone.
