Default Dartford crossing tag

So now the price is £1.50 a crossing the dart tag saves 50p a time.

Signed up (free) and it arrived today

- do I really have to stick it to the windscreen (nasty) or will it work if -

loose on dash
tucked in the sun visor when down

for those without: free to have a tag, it is pay-as-you go, minimum top up is £10.

We use these at work and have to put them on the dash in order to lift the barrier!

The tags work far better stuck on the screen, just alongside the mirror, I just hold mine up as I approach the barrier but it is slower in passing the car throu

Everyone should refuse to pay this! I thought that once the bridge had paid for itself there would be no more tolls! This point was reached years ago. £1.50 for something that should be 'free'?

My mate bought his dart tag along for the tunnel run, I just held it up in the top right hand corner of the window screen and it worked fine.

whats the minimum you need to pay on a Dart Tag, week, month?

and yes -- the toll was only supposed to "blow the bloody doors off" -- i mean pay for the construction then it should been free

It's a congestion charge in another guise! Don't you know you have a choice?

There used to be a minimum per month, but I believe now its pay as you go. Put say £10 on it, and no need to pay anymore until it runs out.

I thought the minimum you could put on it was 20 quid. Was the last time I charged mine up for trips to Saaaaaarfend to see me muvva (innit blood).

That toll is disgusting! Set at £1 a car it not only paid for the bridge and TWO tunnels' construction, but paid the interest on the debt too.
It WAS supposed to be free, but Labour kept it, ostensibly to pay for maintenance

When it was pointed out to them that it would generate FAR too much cash for this, they changed the reason to "keeping congestion down".
Now they regularly have 11 mile tailbacks in both directions, generated entirely by the toll booths.

It's time these greedy fekkers were gone.

I've had to endure going through the toll for for the last 6 years (only once a week though) and suffered its worsening congestion.
Sometimes it easier returning home to the M11 by going into to town via the Blackwall Tunnel.
I just can't see the logic that it somehow cuts congestion by continuing the booths.

Anyway, I just hold the tag up to the top of the screen when passing through.

Unlikely that they would cancel the toll charge when they are going to charge a toll for every road we use eventually.
