Talking Looking for a top class B+B in London....

Can someone please recommend me a top class b+b as near the centre of London as possible for the weekend Nov 22nd-23rd?

Taking my g'friend to London for the weekend (flying into Stanstead as far as i know) so will prob have to take the tube from there to wherever im going??

I will be looking to visit Madam Taussads/chambers/london eye/buckingham palace etc etc so somewhere central to all these places would be good or even close to where the city tours operate from?

Also looking to spend a day shopping and maybe visit Harrods to treat my lady

Any recommendations lets hear them, i know you lot will come up with something....remember it has to be top class ....even a Hotel if pushed, just want somewhere that is well recommended cuz im comming over from N Ireland and havent a clue

Cheers everyone

Budget?

Central B+Bs tend to be aimed at asylum seekers and gullible american tourists.
Deals can be had at mainstream hotels but depends on budget.

Well not really too bothered as long as its not silly expensive, would £100 for two nights get me anything half decent?

And where??

The tube does not go out to Stanstead, you'll need the Stanstead express which takes you to Liverpool St Station on the east side of the city.

stansteadexpress.com

Hotels in the centre are generally expensive.
Look online for deals etc

Hotels.com
Booking.com: 52000+ hotels worldwide. Book your hotel now!
lastminute.com: hotels, holidays, flights, travel and entertainment at the last minute.

Your best chance for a reasonably priced hotel would probably be a Holiday Inn express or Travelodge or Quality budget hotels - cheap rates - Premier Inn

Good luck!

For 100/night you might get a Thistle or a Crowne Plaza on the edge of the tube zone 1. Transport gets slated but really anywhere zone one or two is fine and on a trip, the travel itself is part of it.

Unless you go way out the centre, you're going to be looking at a business type hotel where things are very basic and functional or a very basic b+b which tbh are more like hostels.

150 starts to get into the leisure/luxury band and places like the Landmark (which is great) come in to play.

50 isn't going to get you much I'm afraid.

Take a look on LastMinute.com, 1800Hotels.com and VisitLondon.com to see what's available.

Ok cheers folks, will look tonight!! Where uz think i would be better looking as im comming in on the stanstead express as a far as i know....i sort of want somewere near to where the express comes in, and also somewere near to where the fav locations are and also the city tours!! Dont want to be travelling on trains/tubes all the time just to get to and from my accomodation

I will up my budget to £200 for two nights....any more choice with that? I would like somewere that people could say "yes i have been there, its good and quite near to the city tours or madam taussauds, and only ten mins from where the stanstead express arrives in at" etc

Im not giving yous much info i know, but all i know is im arriving in Stanstead and wanna go from there to city centre for a few days and see the hotspots and all that without much aggro of having to travel half the day just to get back to my accomodation

Luxury London Hotel - Four Star Vanderbilt Hotel

Looks like £119 per night B&B for your dates. Close to Harrods.

Premier Inn? The one I stayed at before is right by the train station (Euston) and several main tube stations also...it also does a good Full English breakfast...they've also revamped a lot of their hotels too...not "top class" but still quality!

Go on laterooms.co.uk - you can usually get something ok near victoria (where the gatwick express comes in) for ~£75. Put the postcode in for the station (I think it's SW1E)

Good luck

Folks, thanks a million for all the help ....trawled the internet tonight and eventually came up with this place whic suited everything inc the hotspot attractions to a 'T':

London City Centre Hotels : City Inn Westminster Hotel

Anyone ever stayed in it, any reports good or bad?

Stretched my budget a bit at £241.00 for the two nights , but it was gonna be a little more expensive anyway coz one of the nights Im staying is a Sunday and thats always expensive ....anyway, doesnt matter now, just hope its a good weekend for me and me girl

Gonna post up a thread now for things to do and go in London ....never done i hear you say

Cheers for all the help
