Whats your favourite cocktail ?
A few years ago, I went on a Beano in Blackpool, a load of us ordered every cocktail on the bars menu each.
I have been out buying loads of different liquers (sp?) etc and so far, my favourite is Squashed Frog or Brain Damage (or Hemorrhage).
Whilst I was out buying, I went and bought some Jagermeister whilst I was there ...... Because it was looking lonely on the shelf.
As you can probably tell ...... I have now had a few, and am just jabbering away about nothing

I remember when I turned 20 back in July 04. Had been working at my old employers for 4 months and had a few quid (pre mortgage days). Me and a mate decided to go to a newish bar called 'Geneve bar' that had recently opened. Anyways had a couple pints as you do, argued the toss on football and then proceeded onto the hard stuff i.e. cocktails.
Only he had told the lads/lasses at the bar it was my birthday in a couple days....
So the cocktails came and went and I became more and more pissed until I realised my mate had totally deserted me. The guy at the bar asked me to do the following... close my eyes, down a shot with right hand into mouth, head tilted back and left hand in a pint of water. Did this and my pants were suddenly wet. Swung my arm and the pint of water went flying over some old biddy Decided to call it a day/night, can't remember, and proceeded to walk the 3 miles home in my underwear.
Oh and I was on 6-2 the next morning before a funeral I've never been so cautious at work as I swear I was still pissed up riding the next morning.
The shot was called a Union jack, as it contained layers of thick syrupy liquer which looked like the flag when poured in right. Bloody horrible.
What was the original question

Not really thorough in the sweet alcohol game. I'd rather drink alcohol with it's original harshness, than disguising it with sweet, fruity and creamy flavours/textures. But if it is about just a **** and a tail , I like pineapple and lemonade mixed together. make it first, then pour it on crushed ice, with a slice of tangy lime/green lemon. Oh! It's so refreshing!

Mojito has to be my current favourite. Also partial to a Whisky Mac, Moscow Mule, Black Russian, Classic Champagne cocktail, Martinis, Long Island Iced Tea, Margaritas, in fact pretty much anything to get pissed
Found our way into a Cafe tent at Glastonbury '07 in the pouring rain that was ran by some Afro-Caribbean dudes, had a cup of tea, but as the tent started to fill up a bit from others escaping the rain they revealed this cocktail menu. Sure they were doing it to earn a bit of extra cash on the side, anyway had a Zombie which has about four different types of rum in it including some overproof stuff. Couple of them and we really didn't care that it was raining any more

Make mine a Manhattan; Makers Mark or Canadian Club, on the rocks.
According to Wikipedia, it is a drinking man's cocktail—strong, urbane, and simple. It has also been called the "king of cocktails".

Another for Mojito - after watching the Miami Vice film
Thing is they gotta be done right. When I asked some time ago on here a chap said about using Havana Club rum and no soda but he was bang on.
I even bought an ice crusher just to make Mojitos. Here is the rough recipe I follow:
1/2-3/4 fresh lime per glass sliced thick
6-8 fresh mint leaves depending on size
tsp of brown granulate sugar
glug of havana club rum
muddle by squashing down not circular as mint gets torn
cover with crushed ice
poor over havana club to taste
top up with more crushed ice
taste & hand over top of glass with tall spoon give it a quick vertical stir if not mixed properly
Prob is there are so many ways bars do them that I rarely drink one out now as wont be up to scratch.

Whilst were on the subject - the worst I had was a "Killer" in Magaluf.
Pint glass, absinthe (double), aftershock (double), vodka (double) topped up with local red bull equivalent. I swear there were fumes coming off the top off that bad boy.

Margarita, esp Kiwi, Melon or Strawberry ones, made with some fresh fruit blended in.
Midori makes some pretty interesting cocktails.
I like a Screaming Orgasm, too but mainly like sourer drinks.

There was one with fresh cream, Creme de Menthe, and Creme de Cacao which used to turn bright blue when it was mixed instead of green as you might expect-forgotten its name! I know our co-pilot got "overcome" with it once in Canada and we lost him for quite a while in the deep snow that night!

I regurgitated a "Flaming Lamborghini" once, which i was told was 16 measures. That put me off cocktails for ages, but I've discovered the delights of Mojito's last year and now I'm rather partial, or would be. The local cocktail bar wouldn't let me in because I was wearing a Guinness 1759 rugby shirt, so I'm boycotting them
