I spilled some rioja on my cream lounge carpet last night and as the wife was suppin a pinot grigio we threw some on the stain, bit of a wipe with some kitchen roll and there is not a trace of spillage this fine day

Althernatively, take a poo in the opposite corner of the room from the wine stain, you wont notice the wine stain ever again

Baking soda, although if the stain has dried you may well be stuffed. Professional cleaners may be the only solution.

My wife was at a friends new house having a glass of white wine when he friend (the home owner) knocked over a glass of red wine onto the brand new cream carpet.
Quick as a flash my wife threw her white wine over the spilled red wine with her friend looking gobsmacked as she did it.

A quick wipe up and no stain!

Indeed, white wine is your friend! My wife spilt some red on our carpet and I poured some white on it and soaked it up with a tea-towel and now it's fine.

Exclamation

white wine or soda water, not just fizzy mineral stuff.

use a tea towel to soak it up and rub towards the middle of the stain so not to spread it.

Again, white wine works a treat.

Then get your gob on it and suck it all up to avoid wasting booze!
