Never seen that before, HDCP is the copy protection scheme that's meant to stop you being able to intercept the data between the source (your box) and the display (your tv)
I can only assume if it is a HDCP problem then this is why you can't receive a picture.
Make sure if you reset the TV from the HD appliance that when you power everything down, you disconnect the HDMI lead and reconnect again at both ends so it forces both appliances to do a handshake rather than just a standard reset - this may clear the problem.

An afterthought:
Did Sky reset your box or did you do it yourself??
Try resetting the box yourself - take the mains power out of the back of the box, press and hold both left and right arrows on the top of the box and whilst holding plug the mains back in to the back of the box, the record light should show at which point you release the left and right and press the centre select.
This should also force a software download.
Cheers

Yes, you unplug the power, hold down the left and right arrows and plug the power back in, either the red light should appear or the blue circle (I'm fairly sure it's the record light) at that point you press the centre select button.
Be warned this will also reset your planner - but if you're getting a new box you'll lose this anyway.
Before you try that did you try powering off oyur sky hd box, powering off your tv, unplug the HDMI, switch everything back on plugging your HDMI cable back in??

You could also rule out your TV being the problem (if your TV is not reporting itsefl as HDCP compatible then SkyHD will not transmit the signal) by plugging in PS3 maybe if you have one or a DVD player that uses HDMI??
Is your TV a Pioneer?

Do you normally use your PS3 on this TV via HDMI??
Only reason I ask is if you normally use your PS3 on a different TV and not via HDMI then you'll need to reset your PS3 display to auto detect, whilst in standby hold down the power button until beeps, PS3 should then auto-detect whichever display is plugged in

Okay so we know the general operation of your SkyHD box is okay, now you need to try and get your PS3 to work on your TV by trying the display reset above.

I'm pretty sure this isn't legal and contravenes the sale of goods act - they have sold you faulty goods and they're not prepared to refund you in full? That's not right. Quite apart from the inconvenience and hassle it's caused you.
