Default Dummy alrm box- strobe lights ??

In the process off fitting a dummy alarm box at the rear off my house, to make it look a bit more realistic think a couple off strobe type lights would be good, looked on ebay but can only see what look like small led type lights which am not sure would give off enough light to show in daylight hours, so okay. any ideas where I may obtain a couple off strobe lights that I could fit within the box ??

The lights you normally see flashing away in Alarm bell boxes are high output LED's not strobes.

Okay thanks then will go back to the twin led idea then !! suppose a couple off leds would last a good while just on battery power alone ??

anyone here in the trade able to sort me out with anything re the above- even if its the whole box /lights.

pm if so.

cheers

just get a full system

i had a dummy box for a while, and screwed a big blue strobe light underneath it.

then my dad got burgled, then i got a good alarm.

they are a false economy, i know there is someone on here who does alarms, have a word with them, if you insist on getting a dummy one dont get the b and q one as burglars will recognize it a mile away.

My alarm only flashes when it goes off.

Also have a dummy box on the garage, but the garage is actually alarmed and also has a sounder inside in the rafters near the ridge, f**k me is that loud when it goes off!

You can make your own with a 555 timer and some LED's if you must.

As was said earlier Maplins sell them, they use x1 large LR20 battery, they come in a plastic housing with a red flashing LED.

You simply drill a 5mm hole in your dummy box and peel off the sticky pads on the unit and stick to the box with the LED exposed.

They last for up to 3 years..

I havent used them of course, I have a proper alarm.

Had a visit to my local Maplins today and asked for the above, " No nothing like that sir "" hang on I will ask the manager "" nope nothing like that "" ah well I thought will have a look thru there catalogue and find it myself- seems they were right - they dont !!!

so still nothing sorted out if anyone in the trade can sort me out with a box / leds, otherwise its off to ebay !!

Okay thanks for the link mate , this is exactly the type off thing I am after, just wonder what the general opinion is regards having one or two alarm boxes covering the front and back off the house ?? from looking around the local area it seems a lot of houses only have an alarm box at the front off the property. may just go for the two boxes for all they cost and given the fact that the rear off the propery is normally the area where I would imagine most break ins occur ??

be interested to hear from anyone re the above ??
