That is interesting as I have visited Newtown Abbot many times and never knew...
Shame that now every town has a little Poland St Helens (land of the gods) Tesco has more Polish / Eastern Europe types shopping in it than English people. God knows where they all live - you never see them anywhere else

I was born and brought up in Plymouth (which is just down the road) and was taken to this place by my Father, who was born at the beginning of the WWII. Although fairly young, I recall being sat in the back of his red Marina and finding the place eerie, but also rather peaceful.
