Are you interested in the job you do?
Although you may enjoy you're job, are you actually interested in it?
Or you may not enjoy where you work but do find it interesting.
I enjoy my job (Air Conditioning Service Engineer) for the most part because it involves alot of Driving and im constantly in different places (hate the thought of being in the same 4 walls day in day out ) but im not interested in what i do, i just sort of do it

I enjoy where I work and (mostly!) what I do. I work for a computer company and have done for most of my working life (not this one, that has only been a year).
I have always been interested in computers, so from that perspective I have an ideal job.

I used to enjoy my work, Currently working for a builder, but to be honest, i;'ve had enough of being taken for granted, not paid enough, always trying to make something out of nothing, and getting covered in crap all day.....
Any job offers would be welcome!!

Currently masquarading as a microwave technician. I'm not interested in it at all, but it will do it until I start my new career.
Same four walls, same moaning ***** the return regardless how badly we treat them in order to get them to stop returning (that's just the other staff). Unsociable hours, lack of team spirit, constant back-stabbing, holiday and day-off requests ignored etc.
As for the customers If I cared about them, I'd send them somewhere better.
I'm not counting the weeks until I can leave, but the days!

Do I do a good job - yes.
Do I turn up every day to get the paycheck - yes
enjoy - no
interested - no
In 8 years, I have had one good day at work (defined as you get home and your other half says "did you have a good day?" and you pause to think about it and say "yes, I actually did have a good day", not "alright", not "not bad" but "good").

I have loved bikes for years, and i have always messed with engines. I have been working at Triumph motorcycles for 18 years now as a production engineer, and looking after cranks and cams for the past 6, so yes i enjoy it 90% of the time - and i am interested 100% of the time.. Some boring paperwork and foreign travel that i don't particularly like but other than that i actually enjoy going to work. Have not had a day on the sick or been late etc. for 12 years maybe so that gives some indication.

Never enjoyed any of my two jobs since leaving college. Well with both being in warehouses and now I'm paying the price for my last employers negligence.
Now if I were to get a job in automotive design, or something to do with cars in general in the design/production area, I dare say I would have a job that interests me. Even if I ended up a full time artist, that would interest me, if I could travel a little.

I started work in 1972 as a trainee accountant and retired earlier this year.
Still haven't decided what I want to do as a career though
Anyone who can have a real interest as their career has hit the jackpot IMHO

I used to be into my job i.e. wanting to know more about what I did and what other stuff I was exposed to.
But as you grow older and mature, you realise everyone in the corporate world is a ******* so you lose that passion quickly.
I contract a lot now, so sometimes I get interested in the work at hand but other times I just go into auto mode as I know the work will pay the bills.

i can't stand my job, i am a salesman and get to meet and greet the scum that fill the shopping centres all over the country. Its a painful soul destroying job but it pays the bills, i have a boss who doesn't give a **** if i'm in on time or if i leave early. I don't report to anyone and generally do as i feel so its not the worst job in the world.

Yep, I like my work and find every job interesting in a different way.
I feel sorry for the 9-5 cube monkeys. Their sacrifice carrying out a thankless job must be truly boring and very, er, unsatisfying. They are the hero's. Anyone who can handle that is in a different league to me.

'Love' is probably too strong a word for it. A lot of people fall into a job that pays the bills and get stuck in a rut and then wake up and wonder what they did with the last 5/10/15 however many years. I keep thinking that the whole idea of how people 'work' etc is possibly not compatible with what human beings actually want or need as many of us seem bored/stressed/unhappy.

I think a lot of people stumble into their careers by accident. Sure if you study medicine, you'll probable end up in a healthcare job, but a large proportion of the rest of us never do anything that's directly associated with their education.
That's what's happened to me anyhow and I am interested in the job. It's 15+ years since I started now and I probably wouldn't know what else to do!

At the moment I hate my job. Hate the people I work with.
If I could find something else I'd leave.
Work for a Industrial Roofing & Cladding company, and my last job was a re-roofing job on 2 huge Military hangars.
Job has taken months to complete (Drawing wise) as information has been slow coming due to having to take the roof off first. Needless to say, I've had days when there was nothing to do. This has been noted by certain staff members who started a whispering campain against me.
Basically my name is mud in here right now, through no fault of my own. Anyone could have been given that job, it was just me.
Went to see the boss to try to get things sorted. Reasured it was all in my head. Only to find out that the office is being moved around. I'm getting stuck next to the rear door (heavily trafficed and often left open in all weathers) and that my desk is to be turned round so the whole office can see my screen.
Waiting to get my Bonus at the end of November, then I might hand in my notice.
