Default Broken iphone!! :(

Hi all

Over the weekend a mate was looking at my iphone and it flipped out of his hand and flew 6 feet onto a wooden floor. The screen isn't working and now the phone is a nice looking brick!

I did take the insurance from the Carphone warehouse at about £11 or £12. Can't find the paperwork and now not sure of the terms and conditions of making a claim. Has anyone had to claim so far and how was the service? I believe there is some sort of excess payable. Anyone know what number I should be calling?

Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!

I'm sure even if they give you a new phone on the insurance when you activate the newer iphone you will have to renew the contract, thus tying you in for even longer. So in theory if you break one every few months you will never get out of your contract

I'm insured through O2, they don't do that. I'd imagine it would be the same with most companies.

Having the contract restart if I ever claim is something I'm hoping won't happen!

Anyone else had experience of claiming from the carphonewarehouse on an iphone?

Flipped out of his hand? Gymnastic phones eh? What will they think of next!?

Honestly, they should have arecord of you and the phone so if they get funny about paperwork make some noise. Sure it will get sorted.

5t.

Thumbs up

A proper sony ericsson would have managed a triple back somersault and still be working - especially onto a wooden floor !

Dropped my iPhone off the car roof onto tarmac, not so much as a scratch and still working.

How old is your iPhone? Did it suffer any visual damage or is it just not functioning?

As long as it doesn't have any major abuse signs and it's less than a year old (or two years if you bought the extended coverage through Apple) you should be able to take it the Apple Sotre and they'll replace it.

My girlfriend has gotten her iPhone replaced twice at the Apple store for various reasons without having to pay a penny.
