Gurkhas win right to stay in UK
A group of retired Gurkhas fighting for the right to settle in Britain have won their immigration test case, their lawyers have said.
Five ex-Gurkhas and the widow of another Gurkha veteran took their case to the High Court in London.
They were challenging immigration rules which said that those who retired from the British Army before 1997 did not have an automatic right to stay.
The judgment could mean some 2,000 Gurkhas being allowed to settle here.

I should bloomin' well think so too!
They shouldn't have had to kick up such a fuss to "earn" this right, as they've already more than paid their dues!

I should f*cking well think so too! If they want to find a group of people to deport, who have no place being here at all, then I suggest that they look at the massed Fonzie lookalike competition entrants, who gather en-mass around the peace gardens in Sheffield every morning...

I can't believe that our bunch of half brains, (governments past and present), would deny these men, and their families, homes in the UK should they wish it
When you consider all the scum, including one armed terror merchants, that we have to put up with we should be welcoming these brave fighters with open arms.
Shame on those that deny these people a home in the UK. Pr1cks

when Harry went to afghanistan, it was gurkas that were used to protect him. When i was a British soldier, we were all terrified of these little fellas, theyre born killers

correct me if i'm wrong but isn't our goverment out of touch with the people of this country, i mean everything they do or say is the opposite of what we want. People that fight to their death to help and defend this 'ONCE' great country or people that contribute little or nothing, and only take from it. Which would you want living here?

My dad was in the merchant navy during the war, and he meet all sorts of forces personnel. He said he was glad they were on our side, and that they were truly amazing soldiers and genuinely great guys.
A few years ago a group of them came over here for some sort event or other, I popped into a cafe for a drink, sat at the only table that was free, and ended up sharing it with 3 Gurkhas and a Rupert. What struck me was how polite and friendly they were. Shame the Rupert was a snobby ar$e.

Let's hope the other 2000 who were refused, now have their cases reviewed.

A disgrace that this was an issue in the 1st place.
We let enough **** into this country who contribute nothing, leach from the state and drain our resources. So these brave people who are and have been prepared to lay down their liives, for our way of life should be allowed to enjoy all we do.

I cannot believe how it seemed to be so difficult for the Govt to change their mean rules and allow them all to settle in this country. Were they trying to prove to us all how tough they are?
They are so quick to send our troops to wars overseas too and to praise them to the skies but when it comes to taking care of the injured ones they give them the minimum that they think thay can get away with and as little care as possible.
This useles bunch should be thoroughly ashamed of thier attitudes to both the Ghurkas and the military in general.

Yup, Flash seems happy to have let an estimated 1 million illegal immigrants in and do little about it.
A few good men, men who have sworn allegiance and prepared to lay down their lives defending the UK and fighting alongside our armed forces and Brown treats them lit they are turds to be wiped off of his size 12's.
It speaks volumes about Flash and his cronies!
I( would rather have a few ex-Ghurkas living in my town than some of the dross i now have!

Having fought along side these boys on numerous occasions it has always disgusted me that the crown would not let these incredible soldiers stay in the UK. They are incredibly loyal to the queen. Many have died for this country. The fact that these guys are then told to go home when you get every man and his dog from The baltic states, Iran, Iraq, and any other sh*t hole come here, stay here and take the **** at our expense.
Well done boys, about time!!

They get my eternal respect. Not only for their dedication to their duty, but also for their fearsome reputation.
I for one would be honoured to live next door to one.
