Well, an F1 race at a track where you can't overtake!
Bought to life by the safety car!
To quote the late James Hunt -
"What a load of rubbish."

Once the novelty of "racing" under flood lights wears off its just another parade lap. Why do they design circuits where overtaking does not seem to happen / hinder overtaking.
It was a dull race fell asleep during it !

Highlight of the race for me was Massa sat at the end of the pit lane with the fuel hose hanging out of the car, and he was statioinary !

Alonso drove a good race to win and to make the most of his good luck due to the safety car. Rosberg did well to make enough time up to negate the stop/drive through penalty. Hamilton was sensible not to try to overtake Rosberg and to take the 6 points. He was unlucky to be stuck behind Coulthard for so long even though he eventually managed to overtake which was well done.

That is about the story of the race, the night driving bit was of no real significance to my mind despite the commentators jumping up and down and wetting their pants over it. Quite pointless and the track is poorly designed since as said above, there are few overtaking possibilities. I was amazed at the high knobbly lumps on the apexes of that tight chicane, really stupid to instal car breakers like that.

Not the right track for an F1 race I think.

Wink

Hamilton was a ***** for not going to try to overtake Rosberg and will regret not taking the opportunity to risk going for the 8 points and it will all end in tears again.

And the McLaren boys cheering the Ferrari mechanics sprinting efforts as they past their pit.

Funny that as there was actually quite a lot of overtaking. Were you watching the same race?

Everyone seems to expect every car to overtake someone on every lap.

It was dire, no one knew who was where, who had penalties and who didnt, and the race was won by a great driver but not because of their ability.

it was a complete joke, I also fell asleep watchingt the "racing". Why the **** do they design these tracks where nobody can overtake? Every driver before the race was saying that the only chance for position changes will be in the pits ffs this is NOT racing, its becoming more of a game of chess - and we all know how exciting that game is!

Shame about the 3.6 megga-watt hours consumed to light the track. Or did F1 off-set that?

If F1 is so cr%p as many of you put, why watch it? F1 is more popular now than it ever has been.

Same as Top Gear really...

Motor related TV that is sadly going down hill but **** all else on unless you want to watch reality TV

Coupled with the 1 in 10 chance that it may just turn out to be an 'exciting' race

How can you defend F1 after yesterdays "race"?? I think it's quite sad that the qualifying is actually more exciting that the bloody race! I will watch all sorts of motor sports,bikes/cars whatever is on telly at the time, and to be honest F1 is the most boring of the lot!

I don't defend the safety car/pit lane rules but there was nothing wrong with the race.

Not every game of premiership football is spectacular. Why has F1 got to be like Belgium 98 everytime?

I think the modern day tv audience just has very short attention span.

Spot on! That is why many Govn'ts around the world, even in "non-corrupt" Europe, can get away with passing ever increasingly draconian (1984 Orwelian type) laws.

Yes, but every football game has 2 ends with goal posts in them - at least their is a chance of it being exciting! Overtaking is what makes motorsport exciting, you take away that eliment and it's just plain boring - simple as that mate!

Watching cars pull 5g around a street circuit doesn't excite you?
