Default Investing in stamps, Stanley Gibbons etc

Hello. Has anybody tried this? The website seems to make quite compelling arguements ie 300% + gains over ten years for the rare stuff. I presume this would be subject to CGT but with combined spouses allowances should basically make it a tax free return for the amount I would invest

They also have a guaranteed 5 year plan that gives at least 5% pa but you could get further upside. Alastair Darling would be less likely to know what you've got with Stanley Gibbons than with a bank, though I would NEVER condone tax evasion!

This rules out stamps for me, i'd imagine it does for a lot of other folks too unless you don't mind investing in things you really know nothing about?

What you need to remember is that Stanley Gibbons are probably the largest stamp dealers in the world, and as such pretty much set the price of any stamps on the market, so sounds like a safe'ish proposition, but you have to ask yourself why they need your money to help them along, when basically all they are is a second hand stamp dealer and auctioneer!
