Default Wheelie bins

We've had a leaflet through the letterbox today saying as from next month we're getting wheelie bins (haven't had them before as the lane is supposed to be too narrow for WB trucks?).
Looking at the green bin contents list it says you can throw paper in but not if it's shredded?????
I thought due to ID theft it's better to shred anything with your details on? why wont they take shredded paper?

How else are your local council going to spy on you? And what else are the bin men, sorry, waste management and recycling operatives, going to read?

I bung whatever in any bin, probably 50% of the recycle bin ends up in the same landfill as the regular bin contents, 49% ends up in a land fill in India and 1% actually gets recycled, different bins were dreamed up by our gov/council wanting to make it appear that they are being interested in the environment, it's all a load of bollocks

Shredded paper can block the sorting machines.

Just put the shredded paper in a bin bag, at the bottom of your waste. I would doubt they would actually go through all your bags to see what you are throwing away.

Saying that, in this day and age, who knows.

Bin man: Where's your bin?

Chav: I've bin around....

Bin man: No where's your wheelie bin?

Chav: In jail.

lol love it !!

As for the wheelie bins and recycling, seeing the recent programs does make you wonder what your local authority is doing. Apparently the carriers of the waste dont have to disclose to the councils what they do with it, due to competition laws !! Which is also apparently changing very soon.

i love our council, since new year we've had our rubbish collected 11 times, with the longest period of none collection being 6 weeks. Then when they collect the bins they put everything from the seperate wheelie bins in the same lorry!!!!

They have sighted our lane being too narrow as the excuse for not emptying the bins as often, even though they had no problem for the previous 2 years with the wheelie bin lorry and no problem for the previous 7 years with the lorry they used before that which was bigger!

I think they have a new driver who's **** at reversing????

Well that sort of sums that up.

Don't know if it's true, but I heard, if bins are left out too long after collection, you can get fined or something. Don't think it's happening yet, but if that does comein, it sort of sucks for anyone who works, depending on the time frame.
