Default Nintendo entertainment system (nes)

I've borrowed a nes of a mate of mine, with all the classic games. but it doesn't work too well.

When you turn it on it just flickers and you have to keep resetting it until it works properly. does anybody know how to fix it or where i can get it fixed ?

This thread has brought back some child hood memories, I remember that the screen would flicker as described if I switched on the console without having the cartridge puushed in correctly, i.e you slided the cartridge in the pressed it down.
No idea how to repair it but thanks for the memories

If you have a Nintendo Wii you can get hold of the old NES,SNES, C64 and N64 games from the their download page. Will cost you money though.
