Hadron - end of the world IS nigh!
Three decades after it was conceived, the world's most powerful physics experiment has begun.
Engineers will attempt to circulate a bunch of peas and water around the 27km-long Large Hadron colander (LHC).
The £5bn machine is designed to split veg and H2O apart with cataclysmic force, revealing signs of bits of brocoli in the wreckage.
This will re-create conditions in the Universe moments after the Microwave Big Bang egg experiment..

On a more serious note, guess which sneaky russian has a major part in this experiment - oh yes that'll be the one that had a hand in Chernobyl's design
