Question Have handsfree kits gone too far?

Right, i work in a mobile phone shop, i've seen handsfree kits go from the loudspeaker units, to ear pieces, to smaller ear pieces and so on.

I personally hate all the ****ing things but anyway,

An american man just came into the shop and asked a collegue of mine if we had the new style of handsfree kits in, he said and i quote,

"Its basically a handsfree kit where you get a speaker adaptor that attatches to your thumb, and a microphone that attatches to ur little finger, so you can just hold your hand to ur ear in the shape of a phone and talk"

Now if im not mistaken, i am sure this is what people already do?
I just think that was so ridiculous, so i felt a rant was in order

I wonder if someone was winding him up, surely it can't be true, or is it a case of Yanks re-inventing the wheel and calling it a rotary transportation facillitator

I bought a sci-fi stylee earpiece, used it twice and sold it to my gadget made mate. My car came with a Subaru fitted jobbie, which I can't be arsed to setup all the voice commands on, so I only use it to receive calls. I must of used it at least half a dozen times in about 10 months.

I hate the stupid things that go in your ear. I got one when they first came out but don't use it any more, if the phone rings when I'm driving I just ignore it or use the handsfree on TomTom. Well I did before it stopped working after the latest update

my car stereo answers my phone for me, mutes the stereo, displays the caller info on the screen and plays the call through the car speakers.

It used to be that whilst behind the wheel you could take a break from answering the phone Whether it's the office pestering you about w*rk or the missuse wanting you to call for a pint of milk on the way home, I'd rather ignore it and enjoy driving, in peace
