Default Tattooists round the Lincs area...

In a nutshell, my fiancee would like a tattoo doing for her birthday (end of September). I said as long as it isn't chavvy etc or in a noticeable place it seems a good idea. We've had a chat and looked at some imagery and we agreed that I'm going to draw her the tattoo design itself, so she gets something custom and 'one-off'.

My question is; does anyone know or can anyone recommend a good tattooist/studio in the Lincolnshire area, more specifically S****horpe/Humber area?

The tattoo itself isn't a massive piece or anything. More like a rose and stem with rosary beads and a cross wrapping around it. Looks quite tasteful and if I draw it how I'm imagining it, would look nice and unique.

I'm not interested in 'don't do it, it looks chavvy/tramp stamp etc' comments, thanks

It's not in Lincs but not too far away from you in Sheffield, Feline is where I've been recommended to go, Gavin is the man apparently

I'm going to get a cover up done there and am hopefully popping in for a consultation in the next week

First thing I would say is find the artist you like and travel as far as you need to to get to them. A tattoo should never be rushed, so finding time to get to the place should never be an issue.

I travel 160-180miles (depending on route) for each of my sittings, simply because its my chosen artist, and her work is to my liking.

Also who will be doing the final proof of the design, yourself or the artist. Again, if its the artist, choosing your tattooist could depend on if this is something that fits into their style.

All the best with the piece none the less

Usually travelling wouldn't be an issue, but obviously you're aware of my fiancial problems, and using a full tank of petrol to go get what isn't going to be a huge piece may seem a little daft. That sounds backwards doesn't it

Design, that will be me. Natalie won't let anyone else do it, so I will do the basic design then a final with pencil and pen for the correct outline and shading. I've done loads of tattoo designs before and have a decent knowledge of how a tattooist can contrsuct lines etc, so I'm bearing that in mind while doing the piece itself.

Scoobychick, gonna look into that as Sheffield is only about 45 miles away and if it's recommended, excellent.

Fair play mate
Yeah I appreciate the financial issues which could affect travel, but getting the right person IS important, and should not be compromised to get it done sooner or cheaper (as im sure you appreciate)

In short I guess what it means is, a tattoo is for life, and best to get right first time.

However of course this all looks like a pointless comment as you might have found a good option near by I look forward to seeing the piece when its done, and trawling through all the negative comments that will no doubt follow lol.

My new one starts on Saturday lol

Totally understand your comments Michael. As there are so many reputable tattooists around now, I'm pretty confident of finding the right one close-ish to home. The gentleman who did 5 of my 6 is still going strong, and I may pay him a visit. Only thing being, it isn't mind blowing work he does. Tends to specialise black and white portrait work which he has awards for. As Natalie wants something 'girly' but original with a little colour, it may be best to get the feelers out.

Dunno if it helps mate but I'm in Lincoln and the bloke who cuts my hair is currently getting some serious ink done all over one of his arms.
Very colourful and involved
I think he said he goes to a guy in Washingborough or Heighington.

If you go to the forum opposite the Slug and Lettuce bar. Go into Dan's.
Tell him Tony who's a work collegue of his mother in law said you should speak to him.

Regards
Tony
