AAAAAARRRRGH! Ipod!
Sorry to post here too but I'm going away this evening and think I'll get help on here quicker than comp. related.
How the **** do I get MP3s that are already on my HDD on to my ipod without them all showing as CD1 track1 etc?
Itunes wont name them.
I'm going off my ******* head here! Please help.
Cheers
Paul

iTunes will pick up track info from the ID3 tags in the files, so I'm guessing that info isn't present. When you rip from a CD iTunes can, optionally, connect to the Gracenote database (previously called CDDB) and pick up track info from there. This option only works on CD's you've imported in iTunes though.
You could have a look here at a tool that will treat a directory of mp3 files as though it's a CD, and connect to the freeDB (a free version of CCDB, as when it changed to Gracenote it ceased to be non-profit) and try to pull the track names down.
