RIP Stevie Edgar :(
The UK Knife culture.... It's only a matter of time before someone you know is done in.
A good friend of mine was stabbed last night (well, the early hours of 14th Aug) and died. Stevie was only 29, kind, genuine, caring, an amazing sense of humour and very a talented photographer. I've known him for 10 years, and in that whole time I've never heard him say a bad word about anyone. He is truly one of the most beautiful people I've ever met, and I will be worse off for not having him in my life.
He was on his way home from a night out alone and was only one street away from his flat. From what we can gather he has been jumped by a pair of jakeys, or perhaps just one, in a bad mood. I know from experience if something has started he would either walk away, or if that wasn't an option, try to diffuse the situation (and in a very polite manner at that!). He has ended up dead. The guy arrested is 31 years old. Not a silly pubescent, hormonal teenager. He is appearing in court this this morning.

No one thinks it will happen to them, nor anyone they know. I am well and truly ****ed up by this. Christ knows how his girlfriend and family are feeling.
Please, whatever you do, take care when you're out. It takes all sorts.
Rest in Peace, Stevie. Will miss you. Love you loads.

They really should bring back the death sentence for scum like that. Provided the is conclusive proof they did it then society would be better off without them.

Horrible!! Just horrible!
You know my thoughts on it but to reaffirm them if found guilty the accused should:
Spend the rest of his natural life (i.e. till he dies of old age) behind bars. His cell should have solid unpainted concrete walls and should be large enough to 'just' accommodate a bed and a ****ter. He will have no radio, playstations, TV or computer. He will be let out in the yard for 1h a day to exercise and otherwise will have no recreation. He will be given 3 basic meals a day with all the nutrient he needs and no other treats. He cannot earn money. He has very limited visitation rights. He is allowed a quick dip in the shower once a day after exercise. There is ZERO chance of parole.
Neds that are found guilty of jumping someone and beating them up should go to a similar jail for a minimum of 6 months and that sentence is just for giving someone a do in with no lasting injuries. Stamping on someones head or repeatedly kicking them when they are down is attempted murder and should incur a life sentence in the same conditions. No if's, no buts, your life is over because you tried to take another persons life.
Fvck PC britain. Go old school where prison was actually an inconvenience!

Sorry to hear that Claire, does make you wonder what goes through someone like that's mind (assuming they have one) ?
Probably feels very remorseful now he is sober/cold turkey.

Sorry for your loss, what a sh1tty thing to happen, how come so many nice people get caught up in such circumstances
Something has to be done about knife crime in todays society!
However its a hard thing to combat i suppose, as muppets will still choose to carry a knife if they so please no matter what laws change

A MAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of his brother at a flat in Leith.
Kevin Edgar, 31, made a brief appearance in private before Sheriff James Farrell at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
No plea or declaration was made on his behalf and the case was continued for further inquiry. Edgar was remanded in custody.
His appearance in court follows the death of his 29-year old brother in a flat in Wellington Street in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Edgar was questioned for around six hours at St Leonard's police
station before being arrested yesterday lunchtime.

Thats from the Evening News site, after a bit of digging and messing about. Im not sure whether the fact that it was his brother who appears to be responsible, makes me feel better or worse. Its a sad story whichever, and it will provide scant solace to those who knew him...
