So yet again water bills are to go up by far more than inflation, year on year on year.

Why do I have to pay an effective tax to a private water company for a sum that is about equivalent to my annual gas and electricity bill when all they do is stick a pipe in a lake, add nasty chlorine and then charge me a fortune?

Talk about sand to the Arabs - I live in Wales and it has pi$$ed down all summer! Do they extract uranium and build billion dollar high tech power plants? Do they dig deep in the sea or pipe gas from the Ukraine? NO! they run a manky old cast iron pipe from a pond 5 miles up the road and charge a bloody fortune for it! Almost £700 pa and the sea is only two miles away for the bits I'm then done with too!

Rip off Britain with 50 water board blokes at the top on a million each - money for old rope. I'll ave em!

That's poor. Only practical thing I can suggest is to buy their shares and maybe that way at least you'll get some of your money back.

 

Moan away mate We don't have water meters up here but I know what you mean, my gas bill has went up from £50 a month to £99 a month, robbing *******s! I think they do it just cos they can!

 

Mate, I do not have a water meter no more than an Arab has a sand-ometer! I do not want to count the pennies when spending a penny! Should I flush now or after a p in the morning!

It falls from the SKY FFS and we have far too much of it and it is effectively free and God given!!!!

I will not buy nasty chemicals for my kids little pool, I will keep the water flowing from the mountains!
