I am likely to re-locate to Dubai for a year and rather than buy a nice car, I would rather rent. I am sure most of the multi nationals will rent everyday cars but are there any which specialise in longer term rental of , say a Range Rover Sport or X5 or Cayenne?

I know, I know!

lots of expats rent and usually they pick cars at the nicer end of the market but many find it a waste of time as the drink every day and cannot drive anywhere.

or, heres a suggestion, hire a bog standard car for a week, then ask over there.

My dad had a Range Rover when we lived over there. I was only 3 or 4, but still remember hitting my head on the roof lining over the top of a sand dune. And people wonder where I get it from...

I know that you get better deals on hire cars when you rent long term, most stuff is covered over there which is just aswell as the drivers are nutters. Just from personal experience, the standard RR works out about 15% cheaper on hire than the equivalent RR Sport (even the supercharged models).
