Been watching CNN, SKYNEWS and BBC World and things are NOT good!

There is a very good propaganda machine at work here, on both sides, and it is going to turn into a big clusterfuch!

Tis the gun that goes with so many fashions from arabian dish dashes to vietnamese tropical uniforms, as well as replica Man Utd shirts in Sierra Leone.

Russian spy planes have flown into our air space in the past twelve months.T he RAF have had to send figther jets up atleast twice to intercept them and force them to turn back and leave..The russians have been observing how many times the american planes stop in the uk to fuel up before flying out to the middle east.the UK is the gateway to the middle east for the americans pit stop. It's amazing that Ruskies have decided to do this at the start of the Beijing olympics..

It is the best time to this, as one analyst said:

It's the end of the Bush administration, the start of the 2008 Olympics, it is a weekend and it is August.
Needless to say, it could not be better!

Strangely enough the UN Security has convened! They must be sick!

After the collapse of the USSR groups of ethnic russians have been left all over former soviet states. In some places like estonia they make up 30-40 percent of the population. Many of the russians have never even learnt the native language as when you are in charge you do not have to. After these places gained independance the Russians had problems in that brutal occupation did not leave natives friendly towards them and their lack of language skills pushed them very far down the food chain. This created a situation where russians although Russian in most ways did not have russian citizenship and were not really part of the country they are in. They started to settle in cities usually close to the russian border and in Georgia they formed terrorist groups and militia's which backed by the russian government tried to establish and independant state which they will eventually join back to russia. This pissed off the Georgans who annoyed with the Militias started to reclaim the region by force so the Russians sent the tanks and air craft in.

The real issue is that Russia has lost its power and influence in its former soviet states with the baltic states becoming part of Europe and that limits Russian intervention. With Ukraine headed down the route of getting closer to Europe Georgia Azerbijan Kasakstan Turjikistan etc have become too important to Rssia to risk loosing hence Russia have drawn the line and said no more.

In propaganda terms under the banner of supporting Russians all over the world it creates great support for the government and distracts from issues at hoime.

Thats the basics of it but each region has its own indvidual list of complications.

Oh and just to make things worse, there are a whole bunch of US military advisors in Georgia.........

I was wondering why the Georgians were using US style camo and helmets, not to mention using dozens of brand new Land Rovers for transport............

You know those little things that sort of escalate into a World War.....

Seems the Americans have just told Russia to get out immediately.

The Russians seem to be just pressing on into Georgia ignoring everyione
