Heads up stargazers!!!
Its that time of the year again
The August Persieds are almost upon us
from about the 8th to the 16th, the skies will be full of shooting stars,
reports differ, but you can expect on average 20 hits per hour.
If you haven't seen them before, they are one of the better shooting star storms, with long bright trails shooting across the sky in an NE SW direction

Saw a shooting star the other weekend whilst camping in Shropshire. Was beautiful, could see nearly every star in the sky as we were miles from any artificial lights. Was fantastic.
We are camping again this weekend in Herefordshire, so might be interesting entertainment, as long as the clouds stay away!

It was really cloudy here last year, and you really need somewhere away from artificial light. We are down the road from Blackpool so it isnt the best spot!

Wish I was still in Cyprus, then!
Clear skies and zero light pollution.
Completely visible Milky Way, too.
Saw absolutely loads of shooters, along with the ISS and associated support craft.
There were one or two meteors that seemed to go on for ages, not just a quick flash but almost as though they hit our atmosphere and then bounced off?
