Any MOT testers online?

reat, thanks for replying.
My car headlights have failed MOT on the following:-
One was too high and one was too low
and then said
Both headlamps not in good working order affecting beam pattern.
So my friends who own a garage checked them, they can normally adjust headlamps no problem, just got to line up the ticks, once they saw there were no ticks they rang the MOT station and asked if they would have failed it on that and they said yes that is a failure. It needs the ticks going towards the nearside.
However, the headlights are geuine Nissan items on an imported skyline r33 and i have been told that not having ticks (kick ups) is not a failure. Also failed on emissions but thats another story.
My question is, should my headlights have failed?

thorny one. have you got UK-type approval? are the headlights retro-fitted UK-type approved nissan units or jap-spec, non-UK nissan units? the fact that it's an import is probably the reason why ... ditto emissions.
regardless, the tester should have given you a form VT30 that details the failure - and you can rely on the VT30 being in line with VOSA regulations.
so, i'd call VOSA, talk them through the comments on the VT30 and ask for a definitive view.
VOSA corporate website. Tel - 0870 6060440.
good luck ...
sorry i can't shine more light ...
