Angry TomTom problem...Someone please help

Ok, here's the problem. I'm trying to download some new applications (i.e Western Europe maps and update the 'safety' camera's). It won't download as there's not enough memory . So I attempt to remove some of the old applications, but I can't see how to do it. I check FAQ's on the TomTom website, it states
Click Remove items from your device in the main menu in HOME.
I do as it says but I cannot find the 'remove items from you device' button

Can someone assist before I tear, what's left of, my hair out.

TIA

are you plugging the unit in via the usb lead or plugging the sd card into a reader? i was trying last week to update the card, but it wouldn;t work. when i plugged in via teh usb lead it was all nice and simple

ps - where are you getting the new info from (pm if you'd rather)

You need to delete the files from your PC as well e.g. delete any 'voice files' to make room for the additional flies you're dowloading.

Simply fire up the TomTom Home application on your PC, and remove it that way. That's what I've done to get rid of all the foreign voices, Dutch postcodes etc.
