Default Average speed cameras (in roadworks)

Does anyone know what the tolerance is on these (50MPH)

Also do the same rules apply regarding NIPs etc - 14days etc?

Don't know, But I follow the trucks @ an indicated 55mph

As most car speedometres overread by 3-5mph, whilst HGVs are calibrated

When checking the GPS speed it backs that up too.

Yes thats the norm for me as well, but this morning, I thought I had gone past the last camera, and I hadn't if you know what I mean.

You just work out how long it should take you, zoom through at 120mph and then pull over and read the paper for a bit before going through the last camera.

The camera on the M1 (nottingham) only appear to cover the first 2 lanes, I regually drive @ 60mph, using an artic as a blocking vehicle.

i have actually discovered that it is cheaper and you get less points if you just drive at the speed limit for that bit!

The cameras are not dangerous they just stand there, motionless, barely swaying in the breeze. It's the driver of that skoda who was dangerous

I really hope these things work, I have been driving through them on the M1 for 2 months now almost daily and you get so many people just racing through them, it makes you wonder if these people or just plain thick because all the signs are there, you cant beat those one that speed uop between cameras and then brake heavily when they see the next camera, fookin retards.

They would not plumb them in if they didn't work surely ? and they must make a fortune.

It's true - my fuel economy has gone up in leaps and bounds since they introduced those 50mph roadworks on the M1 !!

As said earlier does anyone know anyone who's been caught by specs cameras?

You'd think with a crowd of "enthusiastic" drivers (except leslie) if anyone was being caught then we'd know about it. I know plenty of people who've been gatsoed (not me though), plenty of people who've been scamera vanned (inc me), but never heard anyone say they've been specced.

Could it all be a huge scam? Can't really believe it as they'd not make money from this one.

The people speeding through without slowing down are the ones who are foreign and not registered in UK or are driving untaxed, uninsured, unregistered cars.
