First car
I know we had this thread a few weeks ago, but I can't find it and have since unearthed and scanned in two 21 year old photos of my first rocket ship

Its a Hillman Imp, a small British made car that had a Fire Pump for an engine or something, strange, tail happy things.
Me, I had a 1969 Mk1 Ford Capri 1600 GT-XLR, which was 19 years old and older than me !

I had one of these:
The previous owner had resprayed it electric blue but had run out of paint in the middle of the roof so it had a bit of a bald patch I took the hubcaps off and sprayed the steel wheels with 'chrome' paint I also had a long whipped bendy aerial thing
Fortunately I have no photos of it

Picture isn't of mine, as it was red and I'm not sure I actually had any pictures of it anyway Hmm, would be nice if the link actually worked properly

Although I did have the Moggy minor above as my first car it ddin't actually get as far as the public highway with me behind the wheel (legally )
This was my official first road car.. until i smacked it into the back of a Renault 5 and then head on'd it into a sierra full of Rugby players.
1600GT for the win.. (although mine was white)

I have spent ages trying to find "OJA 375G", its still going according to the DVLA website, though its 3 litres now, if it turns up I am buying it and keeping it.
My uncle greg still has his Jowett Jupiter from when he was a lad, he came round in it the other day, then my Uncle Tony in his, you can go a lifetime without seeing one, Gregs was teenage transport, only transport, family transport, garaged and unused, garaged and used and now true classic.

I had a 1983 one of these but it was red:
Pile of complete crap. Ended up going back to the dealer as it kept breaking down.
I then got one of these:
Which was surprisingly a great car!
My first BRAND NEW CAR:
Loved it and spent many a happy time in it Best car ever!
(None of these were actually my cars - digital cameras weren't invented then!)

Here the only pics of mine where it wasn't on axle stands, driveshafts hanging out with a puddle of gearbox oil underneath
Rare cars now, especially in 130ps variety....most have either munched their gearbox, rusted into oblivion, had the ECU waterlogged, caught fire from a fusebox fault, been written off or a combination two or more.
