Help- front brakes squealing on pushbike ??
Anyone offer any advice on the following ?? just bought a new pushbike for young son, he has been riding it for around three days but still finds the front brakes squeal loudly when applied, everything appears set up okay, dont really want to spray the rubber ?? blocks with silicone spray or whatever as sure this would not do much to help the actual braking ??!!
any advice to help get around this problem ??

I'm taking it that the bike has normal type brakes as in shimano v brakes? if so the way to stop them squeeling is to set the brakes with an amount of toe-in so that the front edge of the braking block hits the rim slightly before the back edge does-on my old bike i would use a piece of thin cardboard to set gap.
See this page for more info on what i mean.

hope this works-but should do.
