Just a quick question for the knowledgeable ones out there.

There was a bit where a woman got stopped towing a caravan, suspected stolen. Anyhow, her daughter was towing a burger van, and she ended up with a fine and points for towing a vehicle without having that category on her license. Now, this is my question, was the police officer in the right here? I was under the impression, that provided the maximum weight does not exceed 3.5 tonnes, then you are allowed to tow, on a normal car license (category B). The officer mentioned nothing about weight, just that she wasn't allowed to tow at all.

Correct me if I'm wrong, was just a little observation.

Cheers.

afaik, if you passed your test after 1st jan '97 you are required to take an additional test to tow.
