Default In-flight refuelling Audi style

Just received a copy of the John Davenport / Reinhard Klein book "Group B, the rise and fall of rallying's wildest cars". As it says on the tin it is 250 pages of quality photos and info on the 1983 - 1986 World Rally Championships. It'll take me some time to read it, but what I have already noticed is an advert in the back for an even bigger book by the same author(s) on exactly the same subject that will come out at the end of 2009 and comprise over 800 pages. Part of the additional text will include tales and anecdotes from team members of that period, one of which is mentioned as a taster: I bet you didn't know that prior to the Group B ban, the Audi team had already discussed serious plans to refuel their speeding Quattros with a direct link to a light aircraft whilst competing in the long-distance Safari Rally, in order to cut out some of the time-consuming fuel stops?!

Maybe they were right to ban the loons after all!
