Default Moles and Razors

No not the type you get in your garden !

Does anyone know if there is any truth/medical reason as to why you shouldn't cut a mole even if by accident ? I've heard all of the cancer stories but are they just stories ?

The reason i ask is that i have removed half of one on my face whilst shaving the other day it bled for hours, i haven't shaved for days now as i don't want to aggravate the area.

Secondly are the modern electric shavers any good and does anyone have any recommendations ?

It doesn't matter

Moles are just a collection of cells containing more pigment. You need to worry if they change, get bigger, bleed (without a razor), get crusted etc. then get it looked at !

You could always get it removed....... some GP surgeries do this sort of thing but I'd rather get it done by a specialist if it's on the face.

Damaging some moles, by injury or due to sun etc can change them, try not to cut it with a razor, if its in a sensitve place where its going to get cut then think about getting it removed.

I went to the docs as I had a small mole type thing on my cheek and asked him about removal. the options he gave me were he could do it with a scalpel or I could shave it off whilst shaving. I opted for the latter. Fair bit of blood, but whack a bit of newspaper on it, a shving cut stick or a little blob of vaseline and it soon stops.

Would advise on getting your doc to have a quick look to confirm it's ok to do before you Mach 3 turbo it though...!

I have damaged moles too without a problem. As long as it is not a bad one in the first place, there should not be a problem. If uncertain, worth getting it checked.
