Another fuel thread :)
I had a Shogun 3.0V6 Auto, and I was getting approx 60 miles out of 20 quid before the latest hike in fuel costs (when it was about 1.04 a litre) I changed that for a Toyota Previa which gets me about 80 miles out of 20 quid
and with starting a new job and having to travel a bit further afield on occasion I put the Scoob back on the road after 18 months sabattical
out of 20 quid I was managing to squeeze about 90-100 miles out of 20 quid, however I now have a fuel card so filled the scoob up to the brim (62 quid @ 1.17 a litre) and managed a whopping 350 miles out of a full tank, and managed to fill up a smidgen over 50 litres
So I think it was a wise move putting the Scoob back on the road purely for economical reasons
Now those 350 miles approxiamtely half of those were with the Air Con on, and half motorway and half very short trips (8 miles down to 2 miles)
So Im actually quite pleased, without the motorway driving (York and back) I got about 275 miles out of a full tank of trips all less than 10 miles mostly with the air con on too

Thats great until you realise how much it would have saved you a year or two ago. How many times have you heard...
"Oooh, fill up at so and so, they're petrol is cheap"
My reply, it aint CHEAP its just less expensive than anywhere else.
Why do we always get sucked in to accepting increases and forgetting how cheap it SHOULD be.

I would have still done the same amount of miles per gallon a year or two ago, but I didnt realise just how much it was costing to run the Shogun at todays fuel prices, putting the scoob back on the road and taking the Shogun off was a no brainer
