George Bush at LHR.
Jesus.
I defy anyone to be as obstructive, intransigent and paranopid as these guys.
I know it's their job to protect " Dubya " but some of the stuff they did is ridiculous.
To anyone that was delayed going through LHR yesterday and today, sorry, but for once it really was out of our hands!

Press rubbish. The HOST country decides where a foreign dignitary lands. Foreign and Commonwealth office handled this.

I was delayed by him also being at Minneapolis a few months ago. Pilot on my connection didn't sound impressed by it all! Quite cool to see Air Force One though.

Well the ***** came to Belfast yesterday and outstayed his welcome.
I only live 12 miles from work so last night I left at 5.35.
Now wearing in mind bush was supposed to be gone mid afternoon you'd think it wouldn't take too long.
But no..........
The ***** was still here and they closed off pretty much all roads so he could have a nice drive from Belfast to the international airport and so we couldn't all stand on the road and throw stones at him.
It took my 1.5 hours to drive 12 fecking miles.
Wasn't happy.

Incidently, on Sunday near Heathrow, I saw 2 presidential helicopters being escorted by what looked like an Apache and also by a police helicopter.

Whilst I don't doubt you are right, it wouldn't surprise me if one of his people influenced the Foreign and Commonwealth office into "choosing" Heathrow.

Air Force One.
A "backup" plane that went to Northolt. Not another 747 though as the runway isn't long enough for a 747 to take-off from.
1x 757.
1x 747 "press aircraft "
8 Apache attack helo's.
Marine 1 and 2 Presidential helo's.
Wonder what the carbon foorprint of that little lot is!
Edited to add that the Northolt plane was a C-17 Globemaster, that carried over the limo's! Urban's post reminded me.

In one of today's papers they said that whilst Dubya spent two hours talking to Flash at Downing Street, his bomb-proof limo sat outside with the engine running continuously.
Then when Dubya left, Flash went straight to Heathrow to catch a plane to Belfast - where he was due to welcome Bush to Northern Ireland
To cap it all, Airforce One had to circle Belfast whilst they waited for Broon to arrive!!!
Can somebody please tell Al Gore??? Lets tackle the big fish before chasing minnows

Not permitted.
Because the men that talk into their sleeves wouldn't approve.
Maybe they're not talking into their sleeves, maybe their wrist is sore and they're kissing it better
After all flash might try to blow it up or something.
Or even if it was permitted, it might crash and then two "world leaders" would be up in smoke.
