Petrol panic.
Working from home today, just popped out to get some money and passed 3 petrol stations.
All had queues. Not normal queues, big queues. Long, " I'm in a panic queues "
The BP station where I got the cash out had run out of unleaded and diesel. The pricey stuff was all that was left.
Get out there people, get out there and add to the panic!!
Oh, I'm on the Surrey/Hants border .

I no need to panic, as I wasn't allowed to drive this afternoon (after a general anaesthetic) My Dad picked my car up from the Hospital, he said he'd put some fuel in it for me, when I went to move the car later on I found he'd filled it to the brim first time in donks I've had a full tank!

No panic here Berks/Hants Border.
Anyway, I panicked on Thursday and filled all the cars up then
The shelves in the shops will be empty next as the delivering vans cannot get fuel
I'm just going to clear the shelves at my local Tesco ..... out of my way, Granny!! It's everyone for themselves, one for one and one for one and all that

Sod it, done 2 days this week on my bike, will do more next week, will make my petrol last as long as I need, its only Shell anyway, people make me laugh, its not life and death, they get utter terror at having to miss mooching round the Trafford centre this weekend. Remember not having access to a car is inconvenient not the end of the world.
And if you cant get to work, theres the whole weekend to make arrangments, check out bus routes, book holiday or work from home, we managed for several Million years without cars.
I am starting to think it might be a nicer place without them, thats an easy conclusion to make from a push bike.

I thought there would be no panic down here in cornwall but just went to fill the subaru up and it was queued all the way down the road Guess people have finished work and started bricking it, had to limp home as the subaru is running on fumes
Guess I'll have to use the diesel vectra this weekend

Filled up the works van at 6.30am (i fill it every 3 days) and there was a queue at the esso station?
The old guy in front who must have been retired took ages to fill up his highanddry atoz, when i went to the pump afterwards i saw he'd only put in £5 worth - WTF????????

Why can't filling stations simply impose, say, a minimum £40 purchase?
Tank somewhere near empty? Fill up as usual, no problem.
Tank not actually empty? Panic buying when you don't really need the fuel? Then you can still top up your tank if you really want, but it'll cost you.

not sure, thing is, i doubt the petrol stations make much more money then normal, i mean they might do allright for 24 hours, but what is the point of they then make **** all for the next 4 days?
best spreading the load over the next 4 days and getting the extra cash from people buying the sweets and sarnies like usuall?

I have been out and about today to various places, and all the petrol stations I drove past were ok, no worse than usual
I filled up later this afternoon in the Scoob and there was only one other car at the pumps, it has gone up to about 116 a litre now for unleaded, but I only put 25 quid in as my fuel card turns up on Monday so will fill both cars to the brim then
