Talking are you are a 'couple' and you live apart?

what are your opinions of living apart when you are in a relationship or even married to your partner?

i am doing it now and am much happier to have my own space. i see him every day and sometimes even cook him dinner and of course the other thing is included to lol

the disadvantages are the cost of two properties and the bills, but failing that its a small price to pay, i think, to be happy

If you are having to do this to be happy, you probably aren't with the right person.

I'm thinking of suggesting Terry and June beds to get a good nights kip.

Honestly though,I enjoy waking up to the wife and kids

If you're married and doing that, then why are you married?

If you're not married, and not been going out long then that's perfectly normal.

I don't know Pete, sometimes people just don't want to live with someone else, doesn't mean they don't love em, if the other person is ok with it, then it's fine and dandy.....if a bit unconventional

Maybe more common when one party has kids from a previous relationship?

I've been with my current partner for 3 1/2 years and we both have our own place. Our reasoning is we have both been in 'bad' relationships before and find it hard to trust again and personally i find it very important to have the security of owning my own property that nobody can take off me. Yes, it would make more financial sense to move in together and only pay 1 lot of bills but that would be the wrong reason to move in together. It just suits me more this way at the moment. There's no rush, once bitten twice shy and all that!

That would be great. So much easier to arrange extra circular activities

Unfortunately I'm "shacked up" with mine so my every move is watched

exactly

me and mine have been together for 10 months now and dont see any reason to change things that are going so well.

i feel much more secure knowing that whatever happens i always have my own place. maybe down the road things will change but for now its like dating. you look forward to seeing each other more. plus, we have two homes to flit between, more room to store my clothes and shoes

Personally, I would not move in with someone after 10 months irrespective of what has happened to me before.

The first post sort of implies that you were together and now not and are much happier for it. If this was the case then I would suggest you aren't suited to the other person.

Personally my girls drive me bonkers and feel me with joy in equal measures. By the morning, theres usually me or my partner in our daughters bed as all three of us and the cat don't seem to fit in a king sized bed

I don't see the problem, I live on the mainlaind, provide my wife with a house in the UK and maintain a mistress in my Portugese villa.
Whenever I require their services I either fly to meet them or ship them over here.

yes as of last night

i assume she went to her dads, but to be honest, i was having much more fun drinking stella and watching a chow yung fat dvd so i let her get on with it PMSL

all because she accused me of "bending" her car key and putting the handbrake on a bit to tight (cant argue with this, probably what i did) so she missed her nails apointment

So would most men, but we don't tell women that because they'll cry..........'cause their spirits are weak!

Been seeing someone for the past 2 years and we live 200 miles apart. I like having my own space too. Not sure she's so keen on the idea though !

I love how he's got you thinking this is a great idea. He gets all the good bits... the meals and sex but non of the nattering. Plus he'll be able to watch the footy in his boxers without an hassle. Sounds a top bloke!

So what you are saying is that if you are married it says in the rule book you must live together??

I love coming home to someone who I can share my life with. He looks after me and I look after him. Wouldn't have it any other way!

to be honest, i think the ideal situation would be like that birdseye advert house that is 2 joined together

maybe with some kind of death ray beam that can split the two halfs up when required, that i can control

mine came home today while i was out, stopped for an hour, browsed facebook and then took a few clothes, a bottle of vodka, some paperwork for work) and left again (i have cctv outside lol) probably went to her mates tonight to get pissed

still no contact anything, to be honest i am past the point of being arsed about it, i know this game, its the "see if he rings me game"

so i switched my phone off and now im about to large it infront of the xbox 360
