Question should i open this?

Dear PayPal holder,
PayPal Online Department has recently reviewed your account,
and suspect that your PayPal account may have been
accessed from an unauthorized computer or by a third party.
This may be due to changes in your IP address or location.
Protecting the security of your account and the PayPal network
is our primary concern.

Therefore, for your account protection and integrity,
PayPal Online Department has temporarily locked your account and recommends you to login and report any unnoticed password changes, unauthorized withdrawals, and check your account profile to make sure no changes have been made.

To protect your account, please keep in mind these instructions:

* Do not share your password with other users.

* Log off and close the Internet explorer window after using your
online account, especially if you are in a public place.

Please follow the link below to verify your identity and unlock your account:

https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_login-submit&dispatch=5885d80a13c0db1f1ff80d546411d7f823 b5265b6559fc2aae010bfb00cf3c64

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and appreciate your assistance in helping us maintaining the integrity of the entire PayPal system.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

If you have any doubts simply login to your PP account in the normal way and send the admin team the meassage you have received and see what they say.

I don't trust anything like the type of e-mail you have received. Just copy it, enter my account via the trusted links I have and then paste the relevant info into the enquiry form......... Job done, if it's genuine you will get a response fairly quickly and if it's bogus at least you have let PP know that some one is running a scam.

Cheers

GB

Fake, if it was from PayPal it would have your username at the top, not "Dear PayPal holder"

Never ever ever click on a link to "take you to a page" where you verify your details.

THis goes for banks, Gas companies, Paypal, absolutely anyone.

If you are unsure if something is genuine - open a new browser window and type in the URL directly (or go via your favourites), log in and you will soon know if something is amiss.

Exactly. We had something similar a while back, and it turned out to be a scam. Reported it, and all was well. Definately worth getting in touch with paypal about.

Ring them asap.

I got sent something last yr when someone accessed my account and took out 1.5k....paypal luckily didn't authorise it to be taken from the account (they took it from my credit card)........I got the 1.5k back and then for some reason paypal sent me another 1.5k...lol...RESULT!

I had to do a lot of messing about to sort it out though, printing and faxing proff of ID etc etc, it can be a right ballache.....

Ring them directly IMO.

Sara, let me put it this way:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOO

Clear?

The "Dear customer" bit gives it away from the outset!

Check separately with PayPal, and don't have anything to do with that message!
