Who has had acupuncture?
How did it affect you?
I've been having physio for a dodgy Trapezius and have combined it with some acupuncture at the same clinic. It's been a few years since I last had some so I'd forgotten quite how wierd it makes you feel
When the physio had finished I could barely lift myself off of the couch, my body felt like a lump of lead and I even struggled to lift my head. It took me about five minutes to get up and walk
When I came out I had a stupid grin on my face which I couldn't control and felt like a complete space cadet. I got in my car and had to sit there for a while to try and get myself together, I was completely out of it
It's the wierdest feeling but I like it although I may try and get someone to pick me up next time
I know it affected me last time I had it but nowhere near as much as this

I had a series of acupuncture sessions for a back problem. I had no preconceptions regarding it and was eager for it to have results. But the sessions I had made no difference to my pain and had no other noticable effects.
I must admit I was very disappointed in the sessions and would not even consider acupuncure again.

I'm not looking forward to heading as far south as Northampton next weekend for the Renault thing at Silverstone, I'm expecting it'll be at least £3 a pint

I had it for my thoracic spine last time and it worked wonderfully albeit in conjunction with physio. Some people are receptive to it and some people aren't, even the physio who does the acupuncture admits to being a little sceptical. She was however amazed and quite pleased at the effect it had on me

Am in the middle of a course for some neck pains I have had. The first treatment was good, the neck seems to have responded well. Next one is on Tuesday....

discovered acupuncture when I lived in Japan. Threw my back out and was in real pain, think it might have been sleeping on the floor that did it!
Anyhow, I went to an acupuncturist recommended by my girlfriends mother and after a few sessions my back pain had come down to a level which was easy to cope with. The most amazing thing was this old Japanese bloke was blind but had studied Acupuncture all his life!
I've had acupuncture here in the UK and I have to say I have been deeply disappointed as all those I have used just seem to stick needles in you and they leave you laid there for 25 minutes which seems like a really good way of making money to me. The old Japanese bloke used to tweak the needles and was constantly asking about the pain, move the needle a little more, "hows that" and again and again.
I know scoobychick means about feeling like your made of lead as everytime i had acupuncture in Japan, afterwards I felt like my body was somewhere else but after a few minutes you feel great.

i have accupuncture every week on a friday, its brilliant i feel as light as air when i get up
I have ones in my wrists to help me sleep but he always manages to get me where the nerve is that really hurts!!
840f300 they now do a needless accupuncture too its done by a laser instead so if you are scared of needles you still can have it done
Steph xx

I had acupuncture many moons ago at a centre in Camden to help stop smoking. It was quite uncomfortable to have needles stuck in my hand and twiddled around to be honest and I lit up as soon as I left the place to relax a bit!

The girl that is doing mine is very good, much better than the previous one. I hardly felt the needles go in although I could tell when she hit the right spots, she constantly twiddled them during the 25 minutes and kept asking me how they felt to make sure I was getting the right sensations, she was very thorough.
Lee, just book yourself in for physio, mine has worked wonders on my back and neck and, in just a few sessions the muscle is almost repaired. There's just a small patch that is still tight and at only £30 a session is worth every penny

I'd check the strength of the laser first.... YouTube - James Bond - Goldfinger - Lazers, Gold tables and *****
I'll suffer with as much moaning and groaning as possible
