Default Has anybody got a degree through Open University...

....specifically a Degree in Engineering (BEng)?

I'm in the final 6 years of my 22 in the Royal Navy and really fancy having a BEng under my belt before I leave. I have to go down the OU route as I'm a serving Senior Rate and can't get the time off required. I have looked at the OU website which is full of information but I can't seem to find out whether 6 yrs would be enough to complete it. I feel I would have a slight head start when it comes to the technical stuff as I've been an engineer for the last 16 yrs in the Navy. I specialise in Gas Turbine's and also look after various other bits of kit.

Has anybody done a BEng with OU?
How long would it take...is 6 yrs long enough?

Any other advice or input appreciated.

Craig.

Ask them ?

I just had a look at the site, as back in the 80's the B.Eng. had a quite restricted diet of theory/practical..... IMHO
