How many attempts to pass your driving test and what type of car did you pass it in?
Following on from Mr Bumps (snazy) how many times did you take the driving test and what type of car did you learn/pass using?
Me I passed first time
Cars I learned in was a Mazda 121 (I think) A Mini Metro and a MK3 Ford Escort van (driving for work)
Passed the test in a Metro
Can you tell I'm bored?

Passed first time after 10 lessons. I learnt in a Renault 5, though I did buy a car half way through my lessons which helped with additional practice. This was about 20 years ago.

Started learning in a MK3 Fiesta, changed to a new learner which was the same car. Learned in my Reno 5 with mum & dad and finally passed in a little Rover Metro. Took me 3 attempts, all the best drivers passed on their 3rd go

Two in a car, when I was 18: I failed for 'hitting a curb' doing a three point turn, down a country lane, which didnt have curbs (it was a sunken sough grate). I passed my motorcycle test first time. Two for an HGV: despite a strong drive I failed with about 20 minors and a major for hesitating at a traffic light junction! If Id gone when he said that I should have, Id have have caused a massive RTA..... There were repercussions from this and my re-test was taken with the head examiner and I passed with only 4 minors (a "sh*t-hot drive"!). Both of the spurious failures were within the final three days of the month, so if I take any further tests I will ensure that theyre within the first two weeks of the month...

I passed 1st attempt aged 17 in my Hillman Imp .
Not bad for a car with no brakes. Fortunately the "emergency stop" was only in 2nd gear and going up hill, so it could just about manage it.

Can't remember how many lessons I had, but remember a fair amount about my test itself. Not that it was a significant event or anything...
10.30am 16th January 1986 test ended with me passing in Farnborough, Hants. Examiner F.R. Vivian. Car was a red Ford Fiesta 1.1.

Yup, and I shall be driving through Ruislip in about 3 hours time.
I used to live in Pinner many years ago and Ruilsip was th nearest test centre.
I think the woman that took my test was a bit ill or knackered. I didn't have to do a hill start, or a three point turn. - I just had to drive around a bit (not once going through traffic lights), reverse round a corner, emergency stop - Job done.
The obvious answer is that she fancied me and wanted some PeteLoveŠ

I took my test in South Norwood I think lol. Somewhere in Norwood anyway.
Was a cancellation given to me at the last minute, the instructor had had the clutch on the car changed the day before the test, and it was 9am on a snowy morning.
