Setting up a internet mail order company
I am a sales rep for a giftware company and our products sell quite well roughly everywhere. I am seeing more and more internet mail order places setting and and i supply quite a few all ready.
I am thinking about setting one up selling my products and also a few other companies products as i need a second income and also my dad has cancer and it would be nice for him to do something during the day to keep busy.
I have no idea where to start but i take it the hardest part is setting up the web site and getting people to look at it.
Has anyone set up a mail order company is it hard to do ? Does it cost a lot ?
any help would do
thanks

As a developer I've worked on some large e-commerce sites... but if the product you are selling is straightforward, something like an eBay shop has many advantages as a first iteration. You'll appear on their searches, can use their solid infrastructure, payment processing, no development/hosting costs, build up reputation etc...
Much better than wasting £2K on a website from a small Internet company that's likely to go nowhere. IMHO.
