Mrs has decided she wants a Blackberry, etc to check and send e-mails while away from home or out of the country.

What's the lowdown on these things? Any any better than others?

I have a blackberry and it works well. I have used it with most pop mailboxes with no issues. I have the 8707 which has 3g so you can connect it to your laptop for mobile broadband.

Be Warned!!!!!! use abroad for most devices can be very expensive unless you have international roaming in your data plan. Dont get caught out ask them for a list of charges.

Cheers for that. It'll probably be sourced by the LEA as she's a headteacher, so doubtless they'll get a good deal. I'll warn her about foreign use, but I know one of her friends has one and used it in China. She's an LEA adviser.
