Question Companies that can re-plate plastic headlight reflectors?

Does anybody know of any companies that can re-coat the plastic reflectors of my headlights: wonder:

The existing plating has started to flake quite badly, making my lights about as bright as Gordon Brown

Its not plated as such.

its vacuum applied reflective coating, any heat distorts the bowl / reflector and renders the part useless, as its the bowl shape, that does away with the need for complex lenses.

we used to make the small lights that fit in exterior mirrors, the kit to apply the coating was massive, as you need a method to apply vacuum and to liquefy the metal to coat the part. you then need a way of getting the metal into the vacuum, to coat the parts.

trust me, its cheaper to buy a replacement

I had this problem a wee while back, all the old plating had lifted off and the lights were rubbish. Replacements were rare are VERY expensive.
I never found anywhere that could do it, so in the end I took the lights to bits and sprayed the reflectors with a "chrome" effect aerosol.
its was far from perfect, but better than nothing.

Try this stuff:

Bare-Metal® is Used for Detailing Model Cars, and Aircraft - Bare-Metal Foil Co.

It used to be used by hot-rodders trying to make old lights brighter
